Pilgerodendron occurs as genus of conifer belonging to the cypress family Cupressaceae. It has sole of these species, Pilgerodendron uviferum, and is endemic to the Valdivian temperate rain forests and Magellanic subpolar forests of southern Chile and Argentina. These are the member of subfamily Callitroideae, the class action of distinct southern hemisphere genera associated with a Antarctic flora. These are super closely related the New Zealand and New Caledonian genus Libocedrus, and numerous phytologist handle it inside this genus, when Libocedrus uvifera.
